My name is Alan McLeay. I am currently teaching at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. Before this, I was a postdoc at the Instituto de Ciencias Matimáticas in Madrid working with Javier Aramayona. and at the Université de Luxembourg with Hugo Parlier. I obtained my PhD at the University of Glasgow under the supervision of Tara Brendle.
My research is in the area of geometric group theory and low dimensional topology. I am particularly interested in mapping class groups.
I currently co-organise the Big Surf Seminar on infinite-type surfaces with Federica Fanoni and Ty Ghaswala.
